Captain America is a fictional superhero showing in American comic catalogs published by Marvel Comics. Created by cartoonists Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, the character first came out in Captain America Comics #1 (cover dated March 1941) from Timely Comics, a predecessor of Marvel Comics. Captain America was designed as a patriotic supersoldier who often fought the Axis power of World Conflict II and was Well-timed Comics' most popular figure during the wartime period. The level of popularity of superheroes waned following a war and the Captain America comic publication was discontinued in 1950, with a short-lived revival in 1953. Since Marvel Comics revived the type in 1964, Captain America has remained in publication. .

Captain America would wear a halloween costume that bears an American flag motif, and is armed with a nearly indestructible shield that hethrows at foes. The character is usually depicted as the alter ego of Steve Rogers, a frail young man improved to the peak of human perfection by an experimental serum to assist america government's efforts in World War II. Near the last end of the battle, he was trapped in snow and survived in suspended computer animation until he was revived in today's day. Although Captain America often struggles to keep his ideals as a man out of his time with its modern realities, he remains an extremely respected shape in his community which include becoming the long-time innovator of the Avengers. .

WEAPON :Captain America has used multiple shields throughout his record, the most prevalent of which is a nigh-indestructible disc-shaped shield made from an experimental alloy of material and the imaginary vibranium. The shield was cast by North american metallurgist Dr. Myron MacLain, who was contracted by the U.S. federal, from requests of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, to build an impenetrable element to utilize for tanks during World War II. This alloy was created by accident and never duplicated, although initiatives to reverse-engineer it led to the breakthrough of adamantium. .

Captain America uses his shield as an offensive throwing weapon often. The first instance of Captain America's trademark ricocheting shield-toss occurs in Stan Lee's first comics writing, the two-page text story "Captain America Foils the Traitor's Revenge" in Captain America Comics #3 (May 1941). The legacy of the shield among other comics characters includes the time-traveling mutant superheroCable informing Captain America that his shield still prevails in one of the possible futures; Wire holds it into challenge and brandishes it as symbolic. .

When without his trademark shield, Captain America sometimes uses other shields made from less durable metals such as material, or perhaps a photonic energy shield designed to imitate a vibranium matrix. Rogers, having relinquished his regular shield to Barnes, carried a variant of the energy shield that can be used with either arm, and used to either block attacks or as an improvised offensive weapon in a position to cut through metal with relative ease. Much like his Vibranium shield, the shield can be tossed, including ricocheting off multiple surfaces and returning to his hand. .

Captain America's uniform is made of a fire-retardant material, and he would wear a light in weight, bulletproof duralumin size shield beneath his standard for added security. Originally, Rogers' face mask was another piece of material, but an early on engagement possessed it dislodged, thus almost exposing his id. To avoid a recurrence of the problem, Rogers modified the mask with connecting material to his uniform, an extra benefit of which was extending his armor to cover his previously exposed neck. Being a known person in the Avengers, Rogers comes with an Avengers priority greeting card, which acts as a marketing communications device. .
