Captain America is a fictional superhero showing up in American comic literature printed by Marvel Comics. Created by cartoonists Joe Jack and Simon Kirby, the character first came out in Captain America Comics #1 (cover dated March 1941) from Timely Comics, a predecessor of Marvel Comics. Captain America was designed as a patriotic supersoldier who often fought the Axis forces of World Warfare II and was Well-timed Comics' most popular personality during the wartime period. The level of popularity of superheroes waned following war and the Captain America comic reserve was discontinued in 1950, with a short-lived revival in 1953. Since Marvel Comics revived the type in 1964, Captain America has remained in publication. .
Captain America wears a costume that bears an American flag theme, and is armed with a nearly indestructible shield that hethrows at foes. The character is usually depicted as the alter ego of Steve Rogers, a frail young man increased to the peak of human perfection by an experimental serum to aid the United States government's efforts in World War II. Close to the final end of the warfare, he was trapped in ice and survived in suspended computer animation until he was revived in today's day. Although Captain America often struggles to keep up his ideals as a man out of his time with its modern realities, he remains an extremely respected body in his community which includes becoming the long-time innovator of the Avengers. .

WEAPON :Captain America has used multiple shields throughout his record, the most prevalent of which is a nigh-indestructible disc-shaped shield made from an experimental alloy of metal and the fictional vibranium. The shield was cast by American metallurgist Dr. Myron MacLain, who was simply contracted by the U.S. federal government, from orders of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, to make an impenetrable element to work with for tanks during World Conflict II. This alloy was created by accident rather than duplicated, although attempts to reverse-engineer it led to the finding of adamantium. .
Captain America often uses his shield as an offensive throwing tool. The first instance of Captain America's trademark ricocheting shield-toss occurs in Stan Lee's first comics writing, the two-page text story "Captain America Foils the Traitor's Revenge" in Captain America Comics #3 (May 1941). The legacy of the shield among other comics people includes the time-traveling mutant superheroCable informing Captain America that his shield still is out there in another of the possible futures; Wire carries it into challenge and brandishes it as a symbol. .

When without his hallmark shield, Captain America sometimes uses other shields made from less durable metals such as metallic, or even a photonic energy shield designed to imitate a vibranium matrix. Rogers, having relinquished his regular shield to Barnes, carried a variant of the power shield which may be used with either arm, and used to either block attacks or as an improvised offensive weapon able to cut through metal with relative ease. Much like his Vibranium shield, the power shield can be tossed, including ricocheting off multiple surfaces and returning to his hand. .
Captain America's uniform is constructed of a fire-retardant material, and he wears a light-weight, bulletproof duralumin level shield beneath his even for added cover. Originally, Rogers' face mask was another piece of material, but an early engagement possessed it dislodged, almost revealing his personal information thus. To avoid a recurrence of the situation, Rogers modified the mask with connecting material to his uniform, an extra benefit of that was extending his armor to cover his previously exposed neck. As being a known person in the Avengers, Rogers has an Avengers priority greeting card, which serves as a marketing communications device. .
