Captain America is a fictional superhero showing in American comic catalogs published by Marvel Comics. Created by cartoonists Joe Jack and Simon Kirby, the type first made an appearance in Captain America Comics #1 (cover dated March 1941) from Timely Comics, a forerunner of Marvel Comics. Captain America was designed as a patriotic supersoldier who often fought the Axis forces of World War II and was Timely Comics' most popular figure during the wartime period. The attractiveness of superheroes waned following pugilative conflict and the Captain America comic booklet was discontinued in 1950, with a short-lived revival in 1953. Since Marvel Comics revived the character in 1964, Captain America has continued to be in publication. .

When without his brand shield, Captain America sometimes uses other shields created from less durable metals such as material, or perhaps a photonic energy shield made to mimic a vibranium matrix. Captain America has used a custom specialised motorcycle, customized by the S.H.I.E.L.D. weapons laboratory, and a custom-built battle truck, constructed by the WakandaDesign Group with the ability to change its color for disguise purposes (red, white and blue), and suited to store and conceal the custom motorbike in its rear end section with a shape which allows Rogers to launch from the vehicle riding it. .
