Captain America is a fictional superhero showing up in American comic literature printed by Marvel Comics. Created by cartoonists Joe Jack port and Simon Kirby, the type first appeared in Captain America Comics #1 (cover dated March 1941) from Timely Comics, a forerunner of Marvel Comics. Captain America was designed as a patriotic supersoldier who often fought the Axis capabilities of World Conflict II and was Timely Comics' most popular persona during the wartime period. The acceptance of superheroes waned following a pugilative conflict and the Captain America comic publication was discontinued in 1950, with a short-lived revival in 1953. Since Marvel Comics revived the type in 1964, Captain America has remained in publication. .
Captain America wears a halloween costume that bears an American flag motif, and is armed with a practically indestructible shield that hethrows at foes. The character is depicted as the alter ego of Steve Rogers usually, a frail young man enhanced to the peak of human perfection by an experimental serum to assist the United States government's efforts in World War II. Close to the end of the conflict, he was caught in ice and survived in suspended animation until he was revived in today's day. Although Captain America often struggles to keep his ideals as a guy out of his time using its modern realities, he remains an extremely respected figure in his community which include becoming the long-time innovator of the Avengers. .

WEAPON :Captain America has used multiple shields throughout his history, the most widespread which is a nigh-indestructible disc-shaped shield made from an experimental alloy of metallic and the imaginary vibranium. The shield was cast by North american metallurgist Dr. Myron MacLain, who was contracted by the U.S. government, from purchases of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, to create an impenetrable chemical to make use of for tanks during World Conflict II. This alloy was made by accident rather than duplicated, although attempts to reverse-engineer it resulted in the finding of adamantium. .
Captain America uses his shield as an offensive throwing tool often. The first instance of Captain America's trademark ricocheting shield-toss occurs in Stan Lee's first comics writing, the two-page text story "Captain America Foils the Traitor's Revenge" in Captain America Comics #3 (May 1941). The legacy of the shield among other comics heroes includes the time-traveling mutant superheroCable showing Captain America that his shield still is out there in another of the possible futures; Cable connection holds it into battle and brandishes it as a symbol. .

When without his trademark shield, Captain America sometimes uses other shields made from less durable metals such as material, or even a photonic energy shield designed to imitate a vibranium matrix. Rogers, having relinquished his regular shield to Barnes, carried a variant of the vitality shield which may be used in combination with either arm, and used to either block attacks or as an improvised offensive weapon able to cut through metal with relative ease. Much like his Vibranium shield, the energy shield can be tossed, including ricocheting off multiple surfaces and returning to his hand. .
Captain America's standard is constructed of a fire-retardant material, and he would wear a light and portable, bulletproof duralumin scale shield beneath his standard for added safety. Originally, Rogers' face mask was another piece of materials, but an early on engagement possessed it dislodged, thus almost revealing his individuality. To prevent a recurrence of the problem, Rogers modified the mask with connecting material to his uniform, an added benefit of that was extending his armor to hide his previously exposed neck. As a member of the Avengers, Rogers comes with an Avengers priority card, which provides as a marketing communications device. .
