WEAPON :Captain America has used multiple shields throughout his record, the most common of which is a nigh-indestructible disc-shaped shield created from an experimental alloy of metal and the fictional vibranium. The shield was cast by American metallurgist Dr. Myron MacLain, who was contracted by the U.S. government, from orders of Leader Franklin D. Roosevelt, to produce an impenetrable product to make use of for tanks during World Conflict II. This alloy was made by accident rather than duplicated, although work to reverse-engineer it led to the discovery of adamantium. .

Captain America uses his shield as an unpleasant throwing weapon often. The first instance of Captain America's trademark ricocheting shield-toss occurs in Stan Lee's first comics writing, the two-page text story "Captain America Foils the Traitor's Revenge" in Captain America Comics #3 (May 1941). The legacy of the shield among other comics character types includes the time-traveling mutant superheroCable showing Captain America that his shield still is accessible in one of the possible futures; Wire holds it into battle and brandishes it as symbolic. .

When without his brand shield, Captain America sometimes uses other shields created from less durable metals such as metal, or a photonic energy shield designed to imitate a vibranium matrix even. Rogers, having relinquished his regular shield to Barnes, carried a variant of the shield that can be used in combination with either arm, and used to either block attacks or as an improvised offensive weapon able to cut through metal with relative ease. Much like his Vibranium shield, the power shield can be thrown, including ricocheting off multiple surfaces and time for his hand. .

Captain America's standard is constructed of a fire-retardant material, and he wears a compact, bulletproof duralumin scale shield beneath his even for added protection. Originally, Rogers' face mask was another piece of material, but an early on engagement experienced it dislodged, almost exposing his personality thus. To prevent a recurrence of the situation, Rogers modified the mask with connecting material to his uniform, an extra benefit of that was extending his armor to pay his previously exposed neck. As being a known member of the Avengers, Rogers comes with an Avengers priority greeting card, which acts as a marketing communications device. .
