Captain America is a fictional superhero showing up in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by cartoonists Joe Jack and Simon Kirby, the type first made an appearance in Captain America Comics #1 (cover dated March 1941) from Timely Comics, a predecessor of Marvel Comics. Captain America was designed as a patriotic supersoldier who often fought the Axis powers of World Battle II and was Well-timed Comics' most popular character during the wartime period. The recognition of superheroes waned following the warfare and the Captain America comic publication was discontinued in 1950, with a short-lived revival in 1953. Since Marvel Comics revived the character in 1964, Captain America has remained in publication. .
Captain America would wear a costume that bears an American flag motif, and is armed with a indestructible shield that hethrows at foes nearly. The character is usually depicted as the alter ego of Steve Rogers, a frail son increased to the peak of human perfection by an experimental serum to aid the United States government's efforts in World War II. Near the final end of the battle, he was captured in glaciers and survived in suspended animation until he was revived in the present day. Although Captain America often challenges to keep his ideals as a guy out of his time using its modern realities, he remains a highly respected shape in his community which include becoming the long-time head of the Avengers. .

WEAPON :Captain America has used multiple shields throughout his record, the most common of which is a nigh-indestructible disc-shaped shield created from an experimental alloy of metal and the imaginary vibranium. The shield was cast by North american metallurgist Dr. Myron MacLain, who was simply contracted by the U.S. government, from purchases of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, to generate an impenetrable product to make use of for tanks during World Battle II. This alloy was created by accident rather than duplicated, although work to reverse-engineer it resulted in the breakthrough of adamantium. .
Captain America often uses his shield as an offensive throwing weapon. The first instance of Captain America's trademark ricocheting shield-toss occurs in Stan Lee's first comics writing, the two-page text story "Captain America Foils the Traitor's Revenge" in Captain America Comics #3 (May 1941). The legacy of the shield among other comics people includes the time-traveling mutant superheroCable showing Captain America that his shield still is available in one of the possible futures; Cable holds it into battle and brandishes it as a symbol. .

When without his trademark shield, Captain America sometimes uses other shields created from less durable metals such as material, or even a photonic energy shield made to imitate a vibranium matrix. Rogers, having relinquished his regular shield to Barnes, carried a variant of the power shield which is often used with either arm, and used to either block attacks or as an improvised offensive weapon able to cut through metal with relative ease. Much like his Vibranium shield, the power shield can be tossed, including ricocheting off multiple floors and returning to his hand. .
Captain America's even is constructed of a fire-retardant materials, and he wears a light-weight, bulletproof duralumin range armor beneath his standard for added safety. Originally, Rogers' mask was a separate piece of material, but an early engagement experienced it dislodged, thus almost exposing his individuality. To avoid a recurrence of the problem, Rogers modified the mask with connecting material to his uniform, an extra benefit of that was extending his armor to protect his previously exposed neck. As the known member of the Avengers, Rogers comes with an Avengers priority card, which provides as a communications device. .
